I woke up the other day withthis song blaring in my head for no apparent reason. Released in 1979, “Just When I Needed You Most” by Randy Van Warmer is one of those nostalgic tunes that takes me right back to my childhood and memories of family vacations or just being in the back seat of my parents car listening to the radio. I have always loved the melody of this song, so since I woke up with it in my head, I figured I would arrange it for this month's newsletter. I hope you enjoy it.

I recently had the great pleasure of recording a talk with Rick Musallam for his new YouTube channel Groovy Moody Music TV. GMMTV is a channel dedicated to inspiration and the creative process. In our talk, we discuss my musical influences and development, how and where I find inspiration, and my writing process.
Rick has long been a favorite musician/guitarist of mine. I first heard him with the Mike Keneally Band in 2005. Rick has played, written, and recorded with Carly Simon, The Roots, Gwen Stefani, Cirque de Soleil, and many, many others. His compositions have been featured on HBO, FOX, NBC, and in numerous films.

That's all for April. Baseball is in full swing, and the Pirates are playing well, although I know better than get my hopes up. My son shared the best quote with me about the Pirates being hot in April…."The Pirates in April are like the Titanic just leaving Europe."
