Although this was one of our favorite songs, there were a few problems with it. The song is five minutes long, the vocals don't come in until the two minute mark, and I can't dance…at all.
We made sure that the DJ understood that he absolutely had to start the song at 2:05, just before the vocals enter, or I would be in trouble (and so would Marie's feet). He assured us that he was on it, and we had nothing to worry about.
He blew it. The song started from the beginning. I did my best, Marie was able to dodge my clumsy feet, and when we made it to the part of the song where the vocals enter, everyone let out a huge “Awww…” as Johnny Hartman's velvety, crooning baritone voice sang “The very thought of you makes my heart sing, like an April breeze on the wings of spring…”
So in honor of my lovely wife Marie, I thought I would finally arrange the song for solo guitar. I hope you enjoy playing it or just listening.
I played this on my Yamaha Nylon Silent Guitar, which I bought at the end of last year. This was the first time I plugged it in to record something. I went straight into Garage Band on my iPad and just used the Yamaha onboard reverb. Looking forward to playing this guitar a lot more and working out a decent plugged in tone. It is so comfortable to play.

New Music on the Horizon
I will be heading up to New Hampshire in mid July to work on a new solo guitar record with Tom Eaton at Sounds & Substance Studio. I will be recording a batch of short pieces that I have been writing over the last couple years. I am not sure of how and when I will release the record yet, but I may wind up releasing a few singles in the fall leading up to a full album release in early 2025. Stay tuned…
