Happy St. Patrick's Day!
I found an Irish song to arrange that I know my father would have loved. “Clare My Heart, My Home” was written by Tim Collins as an march/anthem for County Clare, which is the home of my father's family roots.
My father only had the chance to visit Ireland once in his lifetime. He went with his two brothers in April of 1998, and was there during the historic signing of the Belfast/Good Friday peace agreement. While there, he was able to trace his family roots, meet with his cousins, and even meet his half sister for the very first time. It was a trip that changed his life.
In my arrangement, I begin with the four measure intro, then stick to the melody in the first verse and chorus. For the second verse, I put some movement and embellishments in the melody before returning to the chorus. I used a capo at fret 2 just to brighten things up. I hope you enjoy the tune.
Jeff Oster, Tom Eaton, and I just released “Subliminal”. It is the second single from our upcoming album “Seven Conversations”. This tune has fingerstyle electric guitar, on top of swirling synths, with sparkling flugelhorn…it will definitely put you in a good place. Please feel free to share with your like minded friends.
