This month's free piece is a fun, but challenging little thing in A minor that is built around a i > VI > VII (Am > F > G) chord progression. This progression always sounds a bit cinematic and poppy to me.
I have tuned my low E string up to F for this tune. It allows me to do so much more with that VI chord by making that low string an open F.

Summer Projects
I'll be heading back up to Tom's sometime this summer to record more solos to add to the eight I recorded back in May. I was originally going to release this new music as an EP, but I have more than enough music to make it a full album. I will most likely release the album later this year.
While I am in New Hampshire, Tom and I will also work on some more music for another duo release. We already started a tune back in May, so we really want to keep the ball rolling on this project.
On the classical guitar publishing side of things… I plan on writing some new ensemble music over the summer. I would like to focus on getting more of my chamber music for guitar performed by high school, college, and professional ensembles. I am also going to put together a notation/TAB book of my newsletter pieces that will be published through Guitar Chamber Music Press.
I am also in the process of re-transcribing all of my old notation/TABs that were originally done in GuitarPro into Sibelius. This is tedious work, but it is worth it. Sibelius is so much better than GuitarPro.

The last day of school here is June 26th…which seems cruel…but soon I will be singing…“no more pencils, no more books, no more apathetic student excuses for settling for mediocrity while staring into the abyss of their phones and endlessly scrolling through the void searching for hits of dopamine.”
As I write this, the Pirates are still over .500. We continue to pray to the baseball Gods for a winning season.
My Baseball Strat-O-Matic team is worse than the Bad News Bears this season. Just call me Morris Buttermaker.
